Welcome from Ms. Wilson, Assistant Principal

Where Rigor is Routine!

It is a pleasure to return for my fourth year as Bernd's assistant principal and be a part of a dynamic faculty and staff! We are here to provide a safe learning filled environment for all students who enter our doors each morning. It is with great pride that I welcome you and your family to join our Raider family. This year we begin our 2nd year journey with "The Leader In Me" program continuing to develop our students to become Leaders at all times, even when no one is looking. We are excited to watch the development of "Leaderizing" our building with quotes, illustrations, data focus, and positive actions!

This is my twenty-sixth year as an educator, and I am a proud product of the Bibb County School System. It brings me tremendous joy to work in East Macon where I attended Appling Middle School and received my high school diploma from "The Northeast High School "Class of 1985!

Basketball

I was born in Louisville, Kentucky and moved to Macon at the age of thirteen. I attended Miller Middle School in the 8th grade, and moved to the Eastside before my 9th grade year began to attend Appling Middle School where my Raider experience was launched. I graduated NE as a basketball All-American and received offers for an academic scholarship as well as an athletic scholarship. I decided to play basketball for Middle Tennessee State University, as a Lady Raider, and again graduated as an All-American. I was recently given the honor of being the 3rd woman to ever be inducted into the MTSU Hall of Fame 2012, where I was recognized for many records being broken, but the most outstanding one being 66 consecutive double-doubles. Immediately after graduating undergraduate school, I began my teaching career in Bibb County. My heart is in education and providing knowledge to young minds and all those who love learning. I am a true believer that every child can learn, so I am looking forward to seeing all of the wonderful things the Eastside Bernd Raiders learn and experience, as we grow together during this rigorous school year.

Again, thank you for taking time to visit our school's webpage. I look forward to meeting you and assisting in any way I can.
